So if you haven't heard there is a crazy diet called the 5 bite diet that, according to my research, has helped all those who have stuck with it to lose large amounts of weight. This diet was usually recommended to gastric bypass candidates as an alternative to drastic gastric bypass surgery. The creator of this diet is the author of “Why Weight Around,” Dr Lewis.
According to Dr. Lewis, it is safe to lose large amounts of weight at a time due to the amount of fat in our bodies. When we don't feed our bodies, our bodies take care of them selves by getting energy from our stored fat.
His diet plan is the following:
Skipping breakfast and instead having black coffee or tea or zero calorie drinks (even diet soda)
Unlimited amounts of zero calorie drinks (drink alot)
One multi vitamin a day
Five mini-snicker sized bites of any food for lunch
Five mini-snicker sized bites of any food for Dinner
One of these ten total bites must be protein
No exercise for first 3 days
After getting to goal weight daily incorporate bites of food for breakfast until you are able to maintain your weight without gaining or losing
To get a feel for what 5 bites feels like in terms of volume, Dr. Lewis recommends eating a snickers bar. A snickers bar is exactly how much food in volume one should consume.
Results:
There has not been a person on this diet that has not lost weight.
Many have lost 14 to 20 pounds in 2 weeks.
Many say the first 3 days are the hardest but after, cravings have diminished and appetite has decreased.
According to Dr. Lewis and others who have posted their results online, cholesterol levels have decrease, diabetics have been pulled off of injections and medications and blood pressures have dropped.
This diet is to teach about portion control which is something many lack.
My husband and I have begun this diet today. I will try to post our results weekly =) FYI although my weight seems to be very little I am over weight for my height. I need to weigh 110 to have a normal bmi do please don't be alarmed and yes I have tried working out and eating healthy to lose weight but after going from 150 to 123ish I have plateaued. I hope this helps me=) (Husbands bmi recommends a normal weight of 170, his goal is 200 for now.
Day 1 Self: 124.4 lbs
Day 1Hubby: 256
*Day 1 was very difficult I was immediately hungry after meals and tempted to eat more, especially during the kid's meal times. I managed to distract myself with this diet's success stories and lots of cleaning. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I felt sluggish all day. *Day2 and so on will continue to be posted in the 5 bite diet journey tab, next to the home tab.
